Nice afternoon of soaring the coast between Santa Cruz and Monteray.
Nice full day of hike n fly and soaring at Cliffside, and a nice morning of foggy mini-wing laps above Bingen. Beautiful location. Nice community of pilots. Stoke for the xxlites!
Ben and I went for a nice ski to fly on the west side of the Tetons recently. Perfect weather and a beautiful location. Nice lift, even some thermals. Most enjoyable and memorable flight so far. With our hike n fly kits, launching and landing with skis.
With a loose outline of a plan and an interest in riding a few different places, I set off Vegas-bound to pick up Jesse for the start of our second bike-centric van trip in 8 months, this time a bit further afield. After an excellent trip to Moab and Grand Junction last September, and a … Continue reading SOUTHWEST ELECTRIC RODEO, WITH A PINCH OF AMISH BIKING AND TWO FOOTED TRAMPING
August had arrived out of nowhere and my bucket list for summer was still a million miles long. That’s the problem living in Jackson Hole, where the activities and access to nature are endless. The guy I bought it from had fucked up the entire cockpit, as well as leaving it with shit tires … Continue reading MOAB AND TAHOE BEAN DINNER
Sometime in January my neighbor and baddass skier Cody Pitz and I decided to go to Alaska. Tickets were cheap and both of us really wanted to go, so the decision was easy. Alaska has such unpredictable and fickle weather that even if we had wanted to, there wasn't much preparation to be done. We … Continue reading HILLBANGING SPECIAL EDITION: ALASKA MISSION
First, it was a great decision to compete this year. The races motivated me to get outside on days I couldn't have bothered. I learned to skate ski, a tough process, one I might have thrown the towel in on if it weren't for having clear goals. I also liked the preparation and taking pride … Continue reading TRIPLE CROWN RECAP AND THOUGHTS
After a hard week of training and two days of downhill at the Village, I was eager to get back on my touring skis and up into GTNP. As luck would have it, the weather looked perfect for a bigger objective. There has been one line that I've wanted to ski for as long as … Continue reading HILLBANGING SPECIAL HIGH PEAKS EDITION: MIDDLE TETON GLACIER ROUTE
